How To Fertilize Bonsai Tree

Bonsai trees, similar to every other living things, must have food for survival. In contrast to the roots of ordinary trees that develop for further distances looking for nutrition, the roots of bonsai trees are restricted to develop within the tray and hence they will be able to obtain just whatever nourishment is obtainable in the soil inside the container. Hence, the soil within the container must be often replenished with the exact quantity of nutrients.

The procedure of furnishing nutrients to the soil where plants grow is called Fertilizing ... its a vital part of bonsai tree care. The nutrients present in the manure will help the bonsai tree to prepare its own food by a process termed Photosynthesis. The amount and kind of manure to be provided for bonsai tree care is mostly dependant on conditions like: - Type of bonsai tree - Maturity level of the bonsai tree - Moment of the year in which the bonsai is fertilized

The fundamental nutrients in fertilizers are Nitrogen, Phosphorous ... Potassium, mixed in various proportions for diverse manures. You should apply fertilizer during the entire development season of the tree; starting early spring till mid autumn. Indoor trees however can be fertilized around the year. It is advisable to apply higher amount of fertilizer frequently (like once in two weeks) for young trees, ... continue lowering the quantity ... rate of recurrence as the tree ages.

In order to offer proper bonsai tree care, on no account over-fertilize. Excess fertilizer causes burning of roots ... leaves. Burned roots are not capable of drawing water from the soil ... passing it on to the other parts of the bonsai tree. On account of over-fertilizing, keep to water the plant till the water comes outside the drain hole ... allow it to drain. Then re-water it. This practice is known as leaching ... assists to discard excess fertilizers.

Things to bear in mind: - For all times water the bonsai tree before mixing the fertilizer. - Try to use a water dissolvable fertilizer. - Never fertilize a sick plant until it has grown healthy. - Even if it is a development season, do not add fertilizer to a dormant outdoor bonsai until it shows signal of growth. If it is inside, you can add fertilizer less often, like once in a month.

With apt bonsai tree care, by offering the right amount of fertilizer at the proper time, youll be able to grow and uphold a healthy bonsai tree.
