Fifth, every designer should have a great portfolio. Talks are not enough for employers. You need to show them in order to make them believe in what you are saying. Gather your best works and compile them in an organized way. Portfolios are normally required for graphic design job because qualifications alone do not always suffice. Your goal is to show the employer what kind of work you do and eventually impress them with your current skills. Along with the portfolio, you should also have a resume. Make it as interesting as possible and easy to read.

Graphics is fun but it'll likely be more fun if you're able to hone your abilities and employ it to make a living.
