Baby Bedding Sets - Making It the Centerpiece Of Your Nursery

By Bee Fraley

When you first bring home your baby, items like comforters, quilts and pillows aren't necessary.

You will also have to make a choice of whether to use a bumper in your baby's crib. There's mixed information available. Educate yourself and make a choice.

If you do choose to use a bumper, it is better to use one that is rather thin and not thick and fluffy. This will make it less of a suffocation hazard.

In the first year of your baby's life all he or she really needs is sheets, a mattress, and maybe a bed skirt. Anything fluffy or heavy in your child's crib can end up becoming a suffocation hazard.

However, you might be concerned about your baby staying warm at night. For that purpose consider using an organic blanket or sleep sac to swaddle your baby in. If you wrap your baby snugly you will avoid the risk of suffocation.

What will you do with that comforter or quilt that came with the bedding set? As many parents have found, they make a wonderful decorative piece in your nursery.

You probably bought a bedding set that matches the theme of your nursery and can now display the quilt on the nursery wall or simply hang it on a quilt rack or over the crib's side when your baby isn't sleeping there.

If you purchase a complete set in the beginning, you will not have to worry about finding the matching items later when your toddler can use the comforter.

If you'd rather keep it simple in the beginning with just the sheets and such, purchasing a bedding set later will allow you to give the nursery a fresh new look.

Woodworking Tips - Fix Broken Wood Screws & Stripped Heads

By Ryan Henders

There are many mistakes that woodworkers make while they are starting out. The first problem is forgetting to make a hole for the screw. If you cut corners, it may cause more hassle in the long run.

If you are putting your screws, into something like softwood and you are using drywall or decking screws, which you can sometimes get away with, but if they break then you are going to have a problem on your hands. If you are not really adept at using an electric drill to insert your screws, you need to be careful at what you are doing. For example if you just happen to angle that drill a little to the side the wrong way then you will most likely strip the head of the screw. So now what? Well there is a solution.

If you are having a good day and this happens hopefully, it?s above the surface that you were screwing into. Then it is easily enough rectified by using a pair or vice grips to grab the end of the screw and wind it out of the hold. If on the other hand it has broken beneath the surface chances are you would be better to just leave it there. Patch over the hole and start a new hole in a fresh spot.

If you have no choice but to remove the screw then there are few things you can do. If you have done this in the past then you may have discovered after you went to great lengths to fix it that you can actually buy a broken screw extractor at the hardware store just for this reason. Let?s face it there really isn?t much you can?t buy nowadays is there. This handy little gadget is just a little metal tube that teeth have been cut out of in one end. You just have to attach the extractor into the drill. Then what it will do is take a core sample from around the broken screw.

Then you glue a wood dowel into place and simple put in a new screw over the repair.

Perhaps if you really haven?t got the time or energy to run out to the hardware store for an extractor then you can do the repair the old-fashioned way. Just cut around the screw until you are able to grab the head of it with a pair of pliers. Then one you have removed the broken screw you need to repair the damage you created when digging it out. Just drill this area out and insert a plug according to the size of the hole.

If it?s a hinge screw that broke then you can simply epoxy the head into the hole.

In the end, though the best fix is the preventative one. Learn how to drill and insert your screws correctly and take your time. You will find in the end that you have saved yourself a whole of time by not having to do the repairs.

Growing Organic Food: All the Reasons To Start Now

By Amelia Lathyrus

If you want to avoid at least some of the toxins and harmful chemicals we are exposed to nowadays, growing organic food is one important way to do that.

When non organic food is produced it is regularly sprayed with toxins. This is to protect it from various plant diseases caused by micro organisms, fungi and bugs.

The bad news are that the toxins used are not only harmful to the pests they are intended to combat, but to many other living organisms, and among these humans.

The chemicals used to combat plant pests mainly reach us in three different ways. First, the chemicals reside in the plants that are being sprayed and thus when we eat the food we also eat the toxins. Second, they trickle down through the soil and into the ground water, which we use for drinking, cooking and perhaps to water our crops. Third, some chemicals wull spread through the air as the farmer sprays the crops when it is not completely windless.

All these chemicals might cause cancer, depression and make you feel enervated. I believe these reasons alone make it important to avoid the chemicals. Moreover they have an environmentally harmful impact, slowly (or perhaps not so slowly) destroying the wildlife on our planet.

Growing organic food seems like a pretty good idea after this, right?

Then how do you go about doing this? Do you have to be a professional gardener, knowing all the nitty-gritties? Absolutely not. You need to have an interest, you need to enjoy working in the garden, and you need to be willing to learn some basic steps.

Children are often willing to get engaged in the garden, but perhaps not in every chore there is. To sow the tiny seeds, and then watch them sprout and grow fascinate most children. And what a joy to harvest the vegetables or pick the flowers you sowed some weeks ago! Mom or dad can do the weeding and the watering, right?

The reward for your efforts is considerable: being able to serve yourself and your family fresh, healthy food from your own backyard.

Roof Repair

By Scott Rodgers

Roofs are very important part of our house so it becomes our duty to take good care of them. They require regular inspections so that they can stay for long.

Roof leaks can cause great problems in a home. But, many homeowners still allow their roof leak to continue causing extensive damage to the roof, ceiling, as well as creating health hazards. While a leaking roof is very damaging, most of them can be easily repaired.

Identifying the source of roof leak is the first step in repairing it. They usually occur frequently at places like skylights, chimneys, flashlights etc.

The main reason for roof leaks can be worn out or missing shingles on the roof, poorly sealed vents, a low spot on the roof where water collects or it can be due to debris like leaves and branches where water collects. It is important to look for leaks during the day when the light is good.

After detecting the leak location, place a bucket to collect the water for the time being. Take a ladder and look at the roof in that area and you would be easily able to make out the reason behind dripping water. You can see a broken shingle or loose flashing or some debris material stuck there.

If there is debris on the roof such as leaves or ice that is stuck in a low spot melting, by cleaning away this debris, you can usually stop the leak. However, please note, this is only a quick fix, there is still usually damage to the roof that should be fixed so that another leak does not happen.

If you see a missing or a broken shingle on the roof, the process of repairing it is quite simple. Replacing the worn out or damaged shingles should be enough to patch the leak and prevent it from coming back. One should make sure not to delay the process of replacing the damaged shingle as it can cause great problems later on.

If you are not comfortable enough with the roof repairing, you can always go in for a professional roofer. Also, make sure that you do not try fixing your roof in a thunderstorm.

Hi-Tech Roofing

By Scott Rodgers

Yesterday, I went for an house warming ceremony of my friend's new house. It was under construction from past 8 months, but I must say the time spent is really worth. I have never seen such a beautiful house. It was simple, a single floor house but was very unique. The entire place was beautifully designed. It was truly eye-catching.

The new and different roofing styles used were catching most of the attention of the people there. Appropriate roofing themes were used everywhere, specially the kids room was so perfectly designed, exactly how a child would expect it to be. One would surely have a smile on the face after entering the room. Apart from the roofs, the other fittings providing different facilities in the house were also accordingly managed. Usually, most of them were fitted in the walls so that no separate connections have to be made. Plaster of Paris was used for carvings in kitchen and the main hall.

Balcony and other open areas were given a water proof coating as a preventive measure in rainy seasons. Everything was properly planned and all the safety measures were kept in mind while building this house. There were no flaws in the quality of the work. Roofers have done a great job.

The color combination used were excellent. The best amongst them were those of the wash rooms, very soothing. Proper time and effort has been devoted for every corner of that house. Not just that, its the willingness to do the task that has resulted in such a beautiful piece.

After the initial ceremony, the people of the house introduced the genius people, whose efforts have made this possible. The roofers were present there. Everyone was excited to meet them and know about other details. I came to know that imported fibers were used that gives the roof high impact resistance. It is called the Hi-tech Roofing.

National Federation of Roofing Contractors is UK's largest roofing trade association and the roofers we met were from there only. They guarantee 100% quality in their work.

My friend, her parents were so happy as everyone was praising their house and after a long time they were back in their city and that too all together and finally they have stepped into their new house.

A religious ceremony was organized. All the guests then assembled at the garden for the lunch.

Important Considerations for Your First Bonsai

By Pat Lowe

It's necessary that you know exactly what you are seeking when selecting indoor bonsai trees. In order for a bonsai to grow in the surroundings that you mean to situate it, you should learn a couple of things to commence with. Features of the art of bonsai growing include care, width, height and shaping, which might be pretty too much to take in when you don't know what to do.

Here are some illustrations of the things you need to be alert for before heading out to buy your very first bonsai tree.

Maintenance: Each kind of bonsai tree has its own individual maintenance directions. This is among the the very first things that you need to consider when choosing a plant. Pay attention to the watering advice. If you believe that you might well fail to remember to water your bonsai tree every now and then, then it will be worthwhile to choose a tree that does not need watering as often as others. In contrast, if you are apt to give too much water to your plants, then opt for a bonsai that can handle extra moisture.

One more important element of bonsai care is sunshine. Many bonsai plants will require a large quantity of sunlight. For that reason, you must guarantee that you have a place in your home in mind for your plant where it can obtain a good amount of sunlight each day.

Size: Still another issue to remember when picking a bonsai tree is its ultimate stature. Depending on where you intend to put your plant, make certain that you have an adequate amount of space to permit it to grow properly. Needless to say, height may not be a factor if you intend to grow your bonsai plant out-of-doors. The same pointss affect the width of the tree.

Shaping: After you have reached a decision on which bonsai plant to get, you should think about taking a lesson on how to appropriately shape the tree. Most individuals enjoy the aesthetic facet of growing bonsai plants. Thus, in order to be true to the art, you ought to spend some time and energy to sculpt the tree. You can use a lot of different designs, or discover your own unique design and shape.

Nevertheless no matter what style and shape you decide on for your bonsai tree, it is very important that you utilize the proper tools. The tools that are essential for sculpting bonsai trees are accessible at garden centers.

Use Patio Furniture Covers As A Colorful Design Element

By Jane A Moore

This season's patio furniture covers are dazzling. There is no doubt that next year's designs will be equally as colourful. Don't be surprised. Fashion trends tend to respond to the current economic atmosphere. In times of economic hardship, colours tend to be brighter and patterns tend to be more cheerful. Whether it is in clothes or patio furniture covers or other household items, the trend this year is to be bright and colourful.

With the recession in full swing, I think many designers have made a conscious move towards brighter more cheerful palettes. Even if this is a sub-conscious design trend, I think that it is a good one, since you can't help but smile when you see vibrant colors and cheerful fun flower prints everywhere. The colors may clash with the throw back to the 60's and 70's rainbow combinations, but I for one am ready for a change from beige on beige.

If you like colour you will not be disappointed this year. However, colour and pattern design are only a small part of choosing patio set covers. There are some underlying aspects that remain the same from year to year. The aspects that change very slowly or that seem resistant to change relate to the day to day functionality of the patio furniture covers. These aspects relate to the overall durability of the covers, the ease of removing the covers, the style of fastening the covers, the quality of the covers, and the general ability of the covers to protect patio furniture from the elements.

I am often asked about what I look for when buying outdoor furniture covers for me or my clients. The answer is twofold. The first thing I look for is the type of fabric used in the manufacture of the covers. A few decades ago, furniture covers tended to be of a very poor quality with a layer of plastic bonded to a cotton lining. The sun and rain destroyed these covers quickly and quickly the covers looked shabby. The covers that are available today are made from newer more durable and advanced man-made fabrics. These fabrics are both breathable and water resistant. The combination of these factors protects the furniture from the rain and dew and at the same time allows mildew producing moisture to escape.

The second feature that should be examined relates to durability. Look at the seams. Are all of the seams double stitched? Are there any lose threads which might indicate a weakness in the integrity of the cover? Also examine the manner in which the covers are fastened. The more expensive outdoor patio furniture covers fasten with heavy duty zippers. Zip and unzip all of the zippers completely. Make sure the zippers run smoothly and easily for the entire range of the zipper.

When considering what patio set covers to buy you should be mindful of a number of things. Do not be over influenced by just colour and pattern. Be mindful of the functionality of the covers. Can the covers actually do they are meant to do? Are the covers of a good quality? If you think of these factors with equal consideration you will be well set to choose the perfect patio furniture covers.

Advantages of Metal Roofing

By Scott Rodgers

Taking care of the roofs of the house is important. One should be very careful while selecting the roofing style or the roofing material for their home as improper roofing will affect the interiors and wont serve the purpose of having a roof which is to provide protection from external elements.

You have many different types of roofing options available today. The major qualities that anyone will seek for while selecting roofing material for their homes are: durability, strength, connectivity, exterior appeal and low maintenance efforts. There are many different types of roofing materials and each offers certain advantage points over the other.

An interesting type of roofing that is becoming popular now-a-days because of its benefits is Metal Roofs. These roofs are made out materials such as aluminum and steel, as well as materials such as copper and alloys.

There are many advantages of Metal Roofing. First and foremost they help to keep the home cool as metals are reflective in nature so they reflect the heat. Secondly, they are light weight so their maintenance becomes a very easy task.

In metal roofing the risk of fire is far less as compared to other roofing materials as metal does not burn so this adds to the safety of the house. Also, metal roofing will keep water from leaking into the house. This increases the safety and security over other roofing materials.

Metal roofing stays longer than any other roofing type. It is basically popular for its longevity. It proves to be cheap in the long run as one need not spend money and time regularly on its repair and maintenance.

The installation process of the metal roofing can happen quickly. Professional roofing contractors must be contacted for its installation. One should search for the best roofing service of the area for a satisfactory result.

Choosing a right contractor is very essential. He must have a license and must be able to show some samples of previous work so that one can see what the outcome is like. This way you can know for sure that you will be getting roofing that is worth the money spent on it.

Making The Most Of A Small Living Space

By Bianca Styles

You can still express yourself, beautify the space and make the rooms functional even for a small house. Home decorating doesn't discriminate between the spacious and the limited size. Using the key decorating guidelines meant for a smaller living space, you could transform your home into a better abode just like renovating a big residence.

First, avoid clutter. Do away with unnecessary things. Remember, space counts. Every inch you have is like precious gold in a limited size of a home. Make use of storage to organize and keep your belongings. Compartments need not be boring. You can buy storage containers that look stylish enough to be decorations themselves.

Believe it or not, using certain colors can make your place bigger...at least in your eyes. But still, even if not in reality, the appearance of more space is pleasing to the eyes than a crowded room, isn't it? Use light colors to make your place look bigger. The ceiling, especially a low one should be colored a lighter shade than the rest of the room to create an impression of height.

Utilize furnishings that are not too big and those that serve a dual purpose. For a small space, you'll need as much storage as you can especially if you're a big time shopper and collector. There are also things like a sofa bed, multi-storage containers and sleek furniture.

Also, maximize the use of area rugs. Round or oblong rugs are better for smaller spaces than the typical rectangular rugs. These shapes soften the look of the space and don't eat up too much legroom. Here, you can now display darker colors for a contrast or stripes and patterns for more design.

Lastly, lighting is important in making a small home look cozy and airy at the same time. You don't want to be creating shadows as these can shrink a space. But a soft glow and dim light can help make the place look relaxing.

With these tips in mind, decorating your small space won't have to be an arduous task nor does it have to be a stressful home improvement plan. In a jiffy, you can beautify your small space into your own special place.

Decking Out A Bachelor Pad

By Henry Murray

True, women are at the forefront of the decorating battlefield. A woman's touch does make a living space homely and comforting. This however doesn't rule out the magic of a man's decorating touch. A bachelor's pad can be as comforting and homely, as well as attractive with the application of some decorating essentials. Without losing the masculine appearance of man's place, it can also be called his home sweet home.

Start by browsing through magazines to get ideas on how to decorate your space. If you're really allergic to anything floral and frilly, don't bother going through those hyper-trendy publications. Go with magazines that you would actually buy and enjoy reading yourself. Even male interest magazines occasionally feature tips and guides on how to decorate an interior. Ideas, though, can come from anywhere. Even the backdrops and scenes they use for print ads can become the inspiration for your new space.

Ideas for designing a bachelor's pad can be from magazines, TV programs, exhibits and showrooms. The choices are numerous, even those catering for men's taste in home interiors. Don't be discouraged by the promulgation of frills, satins, lace, light colors and other feminine displays in the market. There are still many specially made to make a man's home look more appealing.

A guy's place is expectedly of a minimalist style. Understandably so, men can't be bothered with details and too many things. Therefore, choosing the right items is vital to make up for the minimal presentation of decorations. One versatile decor are area rugs, great for any theme and color scheme. Usually though, men would go for a dark or neutral area rug with little or no design. Solid color and plain design work well with the masculine approach of the interiors.

Once you've got the floor set up, paint should be the next item on your list. It's the quickest way to change the mood in any room, especially if you're trying to convert an overly girls room into a simpler, more serious one. Solid colors are the best idea because they easily work with other visual elements, and the right shade of certain colors can create the right energy and ambiance in a room. Dark greens and light browns, for example, simulate the earthy feel of the outdoors, while deep reds and light blues capture a more formal feel. Keep away from bus patterns and intricate wallpapers that can make a room look busy and dated.

Remember that too masculine rooms can actually appear bland. Colors and decors can bring out the best in a room, so don't hesitate to use items that can help brighten the space. Throw pillows for the sofa, curtains for the windows, smaller area rugs, drapes for chairs, etc. can soften the look of the place without sacrificing the macho image you want to convey.

Wall art is the final detail that will round out your decor. You can choose any theme or item you want, so long as you steer clear of posters. Aside from looking tacky, they're items that one would expect in a college dorm room and not a bachelor's pad. If you feel, however, that you simply have to have posters, at least frame them before installing the posters on your walls. Memorabilia is a much better idea, especially if you're passionate about something. Old sports jerseys, medals and figurines will give your room the look and feel of that ideal awesome pad.

The Good Roofing Work

By Scott Rodgers

I have done many projects for the corporate houses and have been successful so far as a builder. I am also a real estate agent and has worked for the almost all major corporate houses of the town

Apart from being a real estate agent, I am a roofer also. I have done lot of design courses. Some of the major buildings of the town happen to be my creation. This is one major reason because of which I m so successful in the real estate business. By and large, it is the hard work that pays at the end.

Recently I am working for a governmental housing society at the outskirts of our town. It is a big project and we have to build almost hundreds of houses .Not only the houses, we have to build an in-house hospital and shopping complex as well.

This is one of my biggest projects. And in order to complete it successfully, I have hired many roofers as well as designers. We have started working on the layout plans and the duration of the project is almost four to five years. The things have been initiated nicely so far.

The layout and the solidified structures have been put to place. The layout has been finalized by us. All the construction stuff and raw materials have been bought to construction site. We will be making eco friendly roofs so far .

The building that we are creating right now is a high rise building and it has many floors. We have green roof for the terrace however for the internals we will be having concrete and solid structures

We shall be doing venting in order to have airy building and also flashing will also be done in order to make the roofs leak proof and water proof. For the market place we will be having simple flat roofs made up of asphalt. However internals will done with the help of wood

This high rise building has made me successful .The roofers are constantly showing me great results under my guidance. Not only this as far as money and financial issues are concerned, every one from the government is supportive. I shall be on top because of my good work, this is my belief.

How To Benefit From LED Lighting In Your Kitchen

By Abigail Monot

Great kitchen lighting design typically utilises a large amount of lighting (which means more than just installing a few extra ceiling roses). Kitchen lighting needs a variety of types of lighting for different areas and purposes. The absolutely worst way to illuminate a kitchen is using bright fluorescent ceiling strip lights. They're certainly very bright - but also flat, cold and guaranteed to give you a headache into the bargain.

An obvious problem with central ceiling lights in a kitchen is that you inevitably create dark spots and are always standing in your own shadow. A common solution to this is to install banks of halogen down lights uniformly across the ceiling with additional lighting for worktops and hobs.

This certainly does the job fairly well, but is not without its own list of issues: halogen lights run at a very high temperature; they have a short lifespan; and they are without question the most costly solution as regards running kitchen lighting. A staggering ninety percent of the cost of halogen based lighting (and indeed, incandescent lighting in general) is the electricity they quite literally burn.

This in large part explains the rise in popularity of ultra low energy, cool running, LED kitchen lighting. For mains voltage lighting, all that is required is to replace existing GU10 spotlights in-situ with GU10 LEDs. For low voltage systems, replace existing 12v transformers with one (or more, depending on the number of lights involved) constant voltage 12v LED driver and then change over to LED light bulbs.

When installing LED spotlights there are 3 main areas to bear in mind, these being: brightness (or luminosity); colour temperature (whether the light appears cool and blue or warm and yellow); and beam angle (tightly focused or widely dispersed). It's a good idea to get as close as possible on these three areas to the qualities of the halogen lamps you're replacing.

We have become accustomed to rating brightness by wattage, but the rated wattage for an LED light bulb should be about 10% that of the equivalent normal incandescent or halogen bulb. So expect to replace a 35w halogen lamp with an LED rated 3w or greater, 50w requires a 5w LED and so on.

How cool or warm a light appears is graded according to "color temperature". LED lights come in a wide range of white color temperatures (not to mention actual "colors"), but historically it was easier to manufacture blue LEDs and hence many cheap LEDs exhibit a cold/bluish tint. However, if you specify warm white (technically a temperature below 3,500 Kelvins) you should get a fair approximation of the white light normally created by halogen lamps.

A narrow beam angle, say 45 degrees, makes any light appear tighter and more contained to a defined spot, whereas a much wider 120 degrees spreads the light out evenly, eliminating glare and "hot-spots". Quite possibly the best LED spot light currently available that acts as a straightforward halogen replacement is the Sharp Zenigata.

A critical component that determines how artificial light actually appears is not the light itself but the surface on which it is shining. To create a warm feel simply direct spot lights at warmly coloured areas (clay tiles, wood or just a wall painted in warm colours). If a dramatic effect is what you're after, try shining blue LEDs at either dark or reflective surfaces - blue LED light bounced off granite or steel can appear stunning.

Combine LED lights of varying characteristics with different textures and colours to produce a range of effects suited to individual zones in your kitchen. The are almost boundless possibilities, even before you get to playing with LED strip lighting to accent plinths, worktops, coving and more or less anything else that takes your fancy. As ever though, the best designs often emerge by limiting things to a handful or less of the most appealing ideas - but don't be surprised how stunning even small amount of LED kitchen lighting looks.

Why You Should Buy Commercial Floor Mats

By Bart Icles

Face it. Your home and office are kept clean because of the existence of commercial floor mats. You are saved from cleaning headaches largely because of them. There are different types of commercial floor mats for different types of environments. They are the indoor mats, the outdoor mats, the garage floor mats, the anti-fatigue mats, the custom logo mats, the heated indoor/outdoor mats , rubber mats, and a whole lot more. You will be surprised that commercial floor mats have a wide variety of uses aside from the most obvious, that is, keeping the place clean.

When you are shopping for commercial floor mats, you should always consider the quality, the functionality, and the aesthetic aspects of them, in that order. This is because if you prioritize the looks, then you might end up with having your commercial floor mat in tatters after a few uses. If you prioritize functionality, the same thing might happen. If you prioritize quality, pretty much anywhere you use them, they will be functional. And, more or less, quality commercial floor mats nowadays are designed and manufactured with aesthetics playing a big role. Quality commercial floor mats might be more expensive than others, but hey, you are assured to have a great cleaning investment when you choose to buy them.

Why should you buy commercial floor mats? Here are the top reasons:

1. Commercial floor mats allow people to stand for very long hours without having their feet go sore, hence, reducing fatigue and stress which can lead to more serious illnesses.

2. Commercial floor mats keep dirt, dust, and grime off your premises, making you save up on cleaning expenses.

3. Commercial floor mats make the workplace and your homes safer since they prevent slips and falls.

4. Commercial floor mats protect your precious carpets from gathering dirt which can really be annoying since not only are they hard to clean, they can also forever remain on them because carpets are prone to staining if you do not use them with care.

5. Commercial floor mats help prevent your home and office equipment from malfunctioning to the point of being irreparable since they prevent the accumulation of dust on them.

If you still are not convinced that having commercial floor mats are needed, then you might be living in a vacuum-sealed world where no dirt will be able to penetrate, which, of course, is impossible if you are living a normal life.

Recently, I opened my shop for the spare parts and tools for home furnishing. I have tried to keep everything in the shop including the plumbing tools, faucets and fixtures. Not only this, I have kept few models of drilling machines and some stone cutting machines as well.

Apart from this I would like to include lot more in the collection because it will help me to have good and strong foundation of my business. I would like to add on some roofing models also. My shop has been divided in three parts as per the home furnishing divisions of plumbing, roofing and electricity.

Since I am a professional plumber; my emphasis always remains more on plumbing. So, I have kept and covered all the plumbing tools in my shop. This does not mean at all, that you will not find other home furnishing stuff in my shop.

Plumbing is my main area so I have kept few good books in my store on plumbing as well. All kinds of pliers, wrenches and the reamers; and you will find them in my collection. All the shapes and sizes are available in my store.

I am planning for a website in order to promote my shop. My business will be enhanced drastically. Apart from this, all sorts tool are available with me. Let me enlist few of them e.g. Saws and scrapers and chisels, measuring tool, Power Tools, Sanders & Scrapers, Saws, Screwdrivers, Storing & Organizing, and Woodworking

The plumbinggarden.com is the name of the name of promotional website. I plan to do even further in order to speed up the things for my shop. So far so good, things are going in right direction and I hope to do amazing good things in future as well.

This is all that I have planned for now. I have kept four people to take care of sales and other areas of the shop. I might hire some more people if required; provided I get good response. I guess I have told about a lot of good things about my shop. My write up is in itself is a good promotional activity for my shop. I wish for good things in the future as well.

I have given lot of promotional for my shop in the newspaper and wish to go for more marketing in order to have good business.

What Types Of Home Burglar Alarms Should I Use With A Home Security Sign?

By Leonard Rigsby

Home burglar alarms increase your home's value and give you and your family piece of mind. With so many different types of home burglar alarms it is often hard to decide which product gives you the best protection. I will discuss what to look for and stay away from. I will also talk about why home security signs increases protection.

First we will begin by the two types of home burglar alarms. They are open and closed circuit. Open circuit system is triggered when the circuit is broken allowing electricity to flow. The closed circuit has continues flow of electricity and is triggered when the circuit is broken stopping electricity from moving.

They are two types of home burglar alarms they are open and closed circuit. On an open circuit system an alarm is set off when the circuit is broken allowing electricity current to run. With a closed circuit an alarm is set off when the circuit is broken which stops electricity from moving.

When shopping for home burglar alarms it's recommended to compare prices and features. What ever alarm you choose make sure your alarm has a battery back up. Your alarm should be able to detect a fire and it should have an area displaying working condition, or problems.

Many home owners add motion detectors with their home burglar alarm. Motion detectors work by utilizing sound waves, radio energy or infrared energy to supervise movement. A beam passes between two areas and when the reflection is lost an alarm is set off..

Security signs are another way to protect your home. Potential burglar often sees these warning, finds easier places to rob. Security signs are only effective if you place them in obvious areas. The recommended places are on house doors, the curb by the driveway, in flower bed and by garage door.

A good home burglar alarms should have battery backup, detect smoke and have a working condition display area. Home security signs should be placed on exterior doors, garage doors, in flower beds and by the driveway curb.

With poor economy burglary is on an up rise, many home owners are turning to electronic devices to protect their self and property. Although there are many brands of home security alarm, once equipped with sirens protects homes from immediate danger. Home security signs also protect by scaring away harmful intruders. Adding motion detectors to the above increases your protection.

Southern Rose Blooming Control

By Keith Markensen

The first heavy burst of rose bloom occurs in May in most of the South, and now in June the plants are slowing up a bit, both in growth and bloom, taking a little rest for the next good spurt of bloom just a few weeks ahead.

Now the plants need regular attention and treatment with fungicides until the weather gets hot and dry. Clip off all faded flowers; in the case of the fioribundas, take off the entire head of faded blooms.

Assuming that your plants were fed in February, this is a good time for a second feeding, using your favorite plant food according to the manufacturers directions. Do not forget to use plenty of water after applying the fertilizer.

Camellias can also use a second feeding now. I do not like the idea of feeding later than July; and June is much better. This, the last feeding for the year, if accompanied by plenty of water, will encourage the plants to good second growth which will have time to harden before winter arrives.

June is also the best month to take summer cuttings of camellias. If properly handled, they will be well rooted in ten to twelve weeks. Azalea cuttings taken early this month should have good roots in eight to ten weeks.

If you use one of the fertilizers compounded especially for azaleas and camellias, it will probably not be necessary to add an acid-forming material to the soil; but if you use a standard garden plant food, you should increase the acidity of the soil by adding sulfur, iron sulfate or aluminum sulfate.

Beds of caladium planted solidly with one variety have strong appeal, but beds of mixed colors are also effective. If using a mixture of varieties, be sure to get a proper proportion of white varieties to dark ones. One white to five or six dark would probably be most effective. You should be able to buy the plants in pots from your local garden center or nursery. Be sure to learn when to repot plants and get plants that have just started growth , not those that are mature and ready to fade out.

Rooted cuttings of chrysanthemums can be planted now. There is nothing to be gained and much to be lost by setting out cuttings in March and April. Early plantings will require several more pinchings than those planted around the first of June. It seems to be more difficult to keep the early-set plants in continuous and vigorous growth than those planted later. Continuous, vigorous growth is essential for once growth is checked, the plants tend to become stunted, sometimes never recovering.

It is time now to pinch the garden type chrysanthemums for the second or third time. The more often these plants are pinched, the better they will branch; and more branches mean more flowers.

The early-flowering perennials that have become a bit dormant can be divided and transplanted now. Day-lilies and bearded and Oriental iris that flowered in March or April can be transplanted this month. Cut the foliage about halfway back and keep the plants adequately watered until they have time to become established.

Indoor Herb Garden - The Challenge

By Samuel X. Clarke

I love to use fresh herbs in my cooking and I hate to pay $3-4 for bunch of parsley from the supermarket which is saggy and has obviously been there for some time.

I am told that the taste of the herb dissipates very quickly from the time it is originally picked. So, freshly picked is the way to go.

To date, I have been growing fresh herbs outside the back of my garage, down some steps from the deck outside the kitchen as well as some on the deck itself.

The ones on the deck are grown in normal soil and the results have been mixed, it is currently winter here in Sydney Australia " so, not expecting too much growth " in the summer I get good results from this way of growing.

By using a Hydroponics System I purchased a year ago, I have been getting great results, all the year round.

What is this Blog all about I can hear you ask?

Well, it seems that I have a lazy streak, well hidden, I hope but a lazy streak nonetheless. While I have these great herbs within 20 paces or so, I find it a bit of chore to go outside and pick them while I am preparing food!

So, it struck me recently, how great it would be to just have them growing on the bench or in the kitchen window and I could have my very own indoor herb garden, where I just lean over and pick the herb I need to use and then it keeps growing and refreshing itself.

The quick answer, I suppose, would be just to buy one of those systems that create an Indoor Herb Garden. However, the one that seems to be the best is not available down here and the one that is, does not get great reviews.

Given the great results from my Hydroponics System, why not try to replicate this and use it to make my very own Indoor Herb Garden?

So, that is what the Indoor Herb Garden Challenge is all about.

As an added bonus, it may well help me to understand how the internet works, as I keep a log of my attempt.

Although I am based in Sydney Australia, the techniques I am planning to use, should translate to any country worldwide.

There are probably hundreds of reason why this wont work, but I'm going to give it a REAL GO !

So, get behind me on this!

Interior Design - Prudent Styles

By Kelly Kim

Creating a great design for your home need not bleed your bank account dry. As long as you know how to innovate, you'll have a fantastic interior from every angle of your living room right down to your master's bedroom. You won't believe what you can pull together out of those less explored furniture pieces which you could very well take advantage of as you add life to your home without killing the rest of your budget. Yes, it's possible to have designer-looking furniture even if they're nowhere near that.

If you still have those old furniture grandma always wanted you to keep, she surely didn't mean keep them in the basement. Get them out and spruce them up while playing on their out datedness by turning them into a funky retro number! Or if you want to take a subtler and safer direction, have them repainted with the same tone so they end up looking like a whole new set. Whatever comes out of these reinventions, you'll surely come up with something original which you can always be proud of.

When it comes to your wood furniture, old or new, they will always carry a nature of strength whichever part of your home they end up in. Any wood that has its grains intact will make great pieces of furniture which you can restore and have looking like three-generation heirlooms. Whether that's cherry wood bedroom furniture or some of those softwoods such as pine or cedar, you will have a way of making them look as though they were such valuable ancestral memoirs.

A good sanding and refinishing will seal the fate of these mysterious looking woods, whether you've once stashed them away in the attic or had them as hand-me-downs from an elder brother.

Incorporating antiques into any home design always works like magic while adding that classic, elegant feel. But it doesn't mean they always have to be authentic antiques. You can buy jars, lamps and other accessories from one of those flea markets and have them countrified with the correct varnish techniques and some random sanding until they look rustic enough. Except for a guest whom you could hardly fool, you can have the rest of the world believing you've actually been to Jamaica or Brazil hunting for those magnificent pieces.

These days, technology has brought us to places we could only dream of before. If we've come this far with things as complicated as cloning and the space shuttles, decorating our homes with an innocent dose of trickery should be easy.

The Woodworking Guide To Biscuit Joiners and Plate Joiners

By Ryan Henders

More often than not in woodworking projects, you are required to join two pieces of wood together. Perhaps in the past you may have used clamps or set heavy objects upon the piece. You may get away with that on the rare occasion but for the most part, it doesn't work so well.

Ideally what you need to have is a biscuit joiner. This is nifty tool that cuts a hole that is shaped like a crescent or half moon in the two edges opposite each other on the wood. Then you take an oval shaped object that looks like a biscuit, cover it with glue and place it into the slot you made. There you have it a joint made in no time at all.

A 4-inch blade on the biscuit joiner is what cut the crescent shaped holes. Naturally, there are the regular techniques that you could use to make your joint but with the biscuit joiner, it's fast and neat.

Some individuals have questioned as to whether a biscuit join is stronger enough and in the majority of cases, it is. The premise it works on is quite simple really. The glue that you applied to the wood biscuit was covered in glue when you inserted it. The glue caused in to swell and tighten up the joint. Usually its compressed beach shavings that the biscuits are made up of, then they are stamped out into an oval pattern. There are three sizes that are the most common being the #20 which is 1in wide by 2 3/8in long, then #10 which is 3/4in wide by 2 1/8in long and finally #0 being 5/8in wide by 1 3/4in long. There are some newer ones called mini biscuits coming out on the market.

If you are new to using biscuits, you may be unsure as to what size to use. The rule of thumb is to try to go with the largest one that will fit which would be the #20. There will be times though that you will need to go with the #10 or even the #0 if depending on the projects.

You may also hear the biscuit joiner being referred to as a plate joiner.

As you from working with wood, there are several types of joins that you have to make a some point in time during your various projects. If you are constructing tabletops then you have the edge-to-edge joints. Butt joints are end to end, miter joints for picture frames, and then corner joints as well as T Joints.

To make your t-join put the two pieces on top of each other, mark the locations of the biscuits then cut the horizontal slots, followed by the vertical slots then assemble.

To lay out the joint is simple .On each piece draw the line then align the center mark on you joiner with this mark. That?s all there is to it. It just can?t get any easier than this.

Garden Gnomes For Sale - History and Origins

By Tony P Poulter

"Garden Gnomes For Sale"

So said the sign I passed on my way to a business meeting. For some reason, when I got home, I decided to read about garden gnomes and found there was a fascinating history!

Early in the 19th century the first garden gnomes appeared, in Germany. In around 1840, the idea spread to England. Having a gnome on the garden was generally thought to bring good luck, as well as a bountiful harvest.

The 10th Baronet of Lamport Hall, Sir Charles Isham, was apparently the first person to bring a garden gnome to England. He liked them so much that he actually brought 21 from Germany to decorate his garden. Only one is left - "Lampy" - and he's insured for a million pounds!

Originally garden gnomes were hand made using terracotta, and this was the material used until the 1960's. These clay statues were often well-loved decorations which were handed down from generation to generation.

Philip Griebel and August Heissner started mass producing garden gnomes in around 1872. Within a short time Heissner Gnomes became famous around the world. Far from the tacky image of todays gnomes, these were considered to be works of art which brought luck to the owners.

These early figures were often beautifully detailed, and were sometimes quite large - up to a meter high. Although designed as garden ornaments, the more wealthy owners (who presumably could afford better quality) would sometimes give them a life indoors. Rumor has it that well-bred gnomes thought this whole house-nonsense to be beneath them, and preferred to live outside.

Gnome history actually goes back hundreds of years - early depictions show gnomes as white-bearded, wizened old men, often misshapen and generally very short. They also usually wore red hats and tan pants.

Back then gnomes looked pretty serious, and stayed that way until Disney's "Snow White" broke the mold and gave us a far cheerier version to think about.

Ironically the new versions only had a run of a couple of years, since World War II came along and stopped production in all of Europe.

Production didn't really take off again until resins and plastics came to the fore in the 1960s, enabling the mass production of the cheap, bright and cheerful gnomes we see around today.

Eastern Europe and the Far East are now the centers of plastic gnome production, while most of the older ceramic gnome makers are no more.

Modern suburban gardeners seem to like gnome statues. They think (and I agree) that they make for interesting, humorous gardens!

Problem is, many gnomes are stolen (or "liberated"), which is a shame. Maybe because of the recession they turn up on Ebay?!

Gnomes have been around for a century and a half, so they're probably here to stay. Better get used to them!

Closing thoughts:

Gnomes are banned from the Chelsea Flower Show because the organizers claim they detract from garden designs.

Garden gnomes have been banned from cemeteries by the Diocese of Bath and Wells (in England " where else?) because leaders say they are "unnatural creatures". Along with plastic flowers and other decorations such as teddy bears, they have been called "inappropriate and tacky!

In France there is even a French Liberation Front of Garden Gnomes

Bedroom Furniture Throughout Summer

By Kelly Kim

There's never a great time to give your home a new look than summer. The season permits you to paint your walls with your windows open and your furniture outside where there's a lot of fresh air to break up potentially detrimental fumes you may gasp. When you're thinking big time overhauls such as redoing or changing your roof, summer is all the more perfect. This time of year is all you need to give your living areas those new, exciting spices. And while it's tempting to work only on where you welcome guests, your bedroom should be given as much attention.

Essentially, your bedroom should almost certainly be your center since this is where you'll spend most of your time in when you're at home. Your bedroom furniture is also what bears the brunt of your daily wear. Count the number of hours you lay in your bed each day, including nights when you're tossing and turning since sleep is elusive.

How often do you sit on that chair while brushing your hair and marveling at it endlessly on your dresser's mirror? How much have you wiped off your closet's finish as you desperately try to find a good outfit to wear to the office each day? It shouldn't hurt giving this part of your home the care it needs to offer you a more comfortable experience each night you retire in it.

A good way to start your bedroom enhancement project is to build a miniature scale model of your room or to simply draw a floor plan where you can arrange and disarrange the bedroom furniture you have. If you're thinking of getting a new set, having a concrete picture you can manipulate such as a scale model or drawing will give you all the advantage of moving things around without even touching them yet. Your bed, nightstand, cabinets, study table and that warm, cushy couch should be all in the right places. Experiment with the arrangements and keep in mind that balance is the key to every well-furnished living space.

Compared to getting new furniture, giving old pieces a new look is so much more stimulating because they pose a challenge that may be difficult at first but is very rewarding once you've pieced things together. You have to think of colors, textures, and visual weights of the pieces and how to make them come together so that they'll end up looking like a whole new set you bought at once. The challenging part is how to mix everything flawlessly so they come out as an easy match.

It would be magnificent to have all the reasons to want coming home to your bedroom at the end of every day. Give it a nice do this summer when you have Mother Nature on your side as you repaint your walls and furniture or just refinish them.

Curtain Fashion And Headers

By Sarah K Howarth

Curtains can make a room look spacious and nice, or depressing. The curtains in a house reflect the mood and taste of the people who live in it. That's why women need so much time to choice the correct curtains that will suit their homes. Just plainly hanging curtains from a cornice is no longer in style. Now diverse styles and headers for curtains are presented in the market to decide from. For sitting rooms and living rooms that have a view people, choose net or lace curtains. Some people have separate sets of curtains for summer and winter.

There are a lot of different styles of curtains and headers, the most frequently used of which is the standard one. In this, an inch-wide ribbon is used that is gathered up into a narrow even header. This style is frequently used on dormer and cottage windows. It is also used for lightweight curtains where a hard curtain pole is not needed.

The next style in curtain headings is the pencil pleat. This style is used where there is no pelmet or valance. This style gives a nice look to the curtain header and is being used in modern styles. Just keep in mind when buying curtain cloth for this style; you will need two and a half times more fabric than the width of the window.

The third style in curtain heading is the 'French pleat'. This style is used on heavy window curtains, like velvet. An additional stiffener or lining of a thin stuff is also used, the pleats fan across the window, and there is a button sewn at the bottom of each pleat. Again two and a half times more than the window width in fabric will be needed for curtains with this sort of pleat style.

The 'cartridge' or 'goblet style' is used in a somewhat formal setting of the curtains. Tissue papers or polyester is stuffed on top of each rod for the curtain to keep its shape.

The 'slot pleat' is effortless to make. Slots are cut in the header string through which the curtain pole is fed. This style can be made better by allowing a quantity curtain to stand above the pole. Again the width of the curtain fabric should be twice or thrice that of the window's width. You will be needed to decide the distance of the slots.

Another different design in curtain heading is the 'puff ball design'. In this design, you make the curtain like the slot pleat curtain; simply you keep at least twelve inches above the slots. Once the curtain is hung on the pole, the top is puffed up.

These are the common designs and headers used in curtains. But there are always new designs that are being added. The curtain design and header depends on the window types and the curtain pelmets. The curtain design and heading must match the dcor of the room. Also the curtain material must have a nice fall. Before buying curtain material you must decide on the style you want, as the amount of curtain cloth that you need to buy will depend upon the curtain style. What you don't want is to run out of cloth, or find the cloth to be in excess.

How To Save Money On Flooring

By Tariq Khan

Discount flooring can be a great way to get a new or older home renovated quickly and affordably. Although discount flooring used to mean substandard materials that looked poor, there are materials available lately that maintain both aesthetic appeal and durability.

Hardwood flooring and expensive carpeting are not a requirement to realize a great looking design anymore. There are a number of manufacturers that specialize in quality discount flooring today, look to suppliers that can provide vinyl flooring. Vinyl flooring is easily one of the best and most affordable floor solutions out on the market today. Both very affordable and flexible, this discount floor fits just about any requirement and looks great in the process. Vinyl flooring has been in use in the commercial sector for several years because of its affordability and quality. Floors with a great deal of traffic demand a tough surface that won't suffer under frequent abrasions. Vinyl flooring provides the quality and durability required to survive tough commercial environments.

Vinyl flooring is highly resistant to moisture and stains. Pressure sealed against water damage, vinyl flooring keeps water out both from spills and from the subfloor. The pressure sealed flooring will not absorb stains either, and as long as the spill is cleaned up promptly, it should leave no mark.

When vinyl flooring loses its luster, it can be easily restored with a buffing or refinishing of the surface. This is an extremely simple surface to care for, and does not require the high level of maintenance seen with hardwoods.

Wood flooring can be very appealing, but it is also difficult to care for and costly. Wood flooring can bow or buckle with water damage and moisture exposure. The flooring is also vulnerable to expansion and contraction as time passes, eventually leading to cracks in the surface. Vinyl flooring does not suffer from these problems, and with its interlocking tile system, damaged tiles can be taken out and replaced with ease.

Carpet can sometimes be a viable alternative, but it is also prone to suffering damage over time. Moisture and stains can be absorbed into the surface, causing the surface to become dingy. Carpets can also be damaged by abrasion as time passes, becoming frayed and torn in places.

Hot Tub Supplies: Everything You Need To Know

By Sam Raza

If you have a hot tub, then you are going to need to purchase hot tub supplies periodically to keep the hot tub running smoothly and efficiently. Some of the Hot Tub Supplies that you will want to purchase include filter gaskets for the hot tub filters, cleaning solutions to clean the hot tub as well as chemicals to put in the water to keep the use of the hot tub sanitary. Periodically, some of the hot tub supplies may include a hose or jet replacement as well as a heater and filter replacement.

Hot tubs are found in more and more places today. Individuals and families use them at their homes, while hospitals and nursing homes use hot tubs to provide therapy and relaxation to their patients. Hot tubs for your home can now even be purchased as inflatable models which can be placed, moved and taken away with ease. An important thing to remember is that hot tubs basically work the same as swimming pools, with the additional features of having heated water and having jets in the water. A quick overview of some of the basic supplies you'll need to keep your hot tub at its best is an important step in hot tub ownership.

Cleansers

Periodically, the hot tub will have to be cleaned. You cannot just use any type of cleaning solution for the hot tub, you need to use those that will not scratch the surface but will still sanitize the hot tub. One Hot Tub Supply that you will need to keep on hand is a cleaning solution for the hot tub so that you can keep it clean throughout the year.

Covers

When you are not using the hot tub, you will want to cover it so that it does not collect any debris or attract any children that may wander into your yard. A hot tub, like a pool, is considered an attractive nuisance. It is up to the owner to keep others away from the hot tub when not in use. You need to include a hot tub cover with your hot tub supplies.

Water treatment

You need to treat the water in the hot tub so that it is sanitary. Chlorine tablets, like those used in swimming pools, should be used in the hot tub to stave off germs and bacteria that can collect in stagnant water. In addition to the water treatment tablets, your hot tub supplies should also include a water testing kit. This can let you know if the water is safe and sanitary for using the hot tub.

Replacement heater

If the heater goes on your hot tub, there is no need to get a new hot tub. You can simply get a replacement heater for the make and model hot tub that you have. In addition to a replacement heater, you should be apprised of all of the replacement parts that may be needed for the hot tub.

So yes, owning a hot tub does come with some work. But it's not hard to do and it's not overly expensive. Keep some basic Hot Tub Supplies around the house when you need them and be aware that others may need to be replaced in the future.

Helpful Vinyl Signs

By Bart Icles

Signs tell us a lot of things. They give us safety precautions and warnings on what lies ahead. They also tell us directions and what can be expected. Signs are also used to promote sales and business. There are also many different kinds of signs. There are simple and straightforward signs. Others are colorful and attractive. There are even signs that have humor injected in them. We can find signs everywhere. In the streets, highways, alleys, halls, walls, malls, offices, schools, and even in our own homes.

Over the years, businesses have found signs as effective tools in promoting sales. They have made use of signs as eye-catching advertisements that tell people about their products and services. Businesses use different kinds of material in their signs: wood, aluminum, coroplast, vinyl, and many others. Among all these materials, an often popular choice is vinyl as it offers businesses an appealing and affordable way of making themselves known to the public.

Typically, businesses use vinyl signs as graphic displays that give their products and services the exposure or visibility that they need. Vinyl signs can come in all shapes and sizes. They can come as small tags or as large prints that can be as large as your window. Vinyl signs can also be nice looking business signs that people can easily recognize. With easy recognition, they are able to almost immediately identify business establishments. In this manner, impressive vinyl signs can help turn business spaces into landmarks.

Business owners are not the only ones who are tapping the commercial potential of vinyl signs. Organizations and even homemakers use vinyl signs to decorate spaces. They can be used both indoors and outdoors. Vinyl signs can be designed and printed to blend with the background. They can also be made to stand out and become centerpieces and on other times as accents.

Those who opt to use vinyl signs can choose between vinyl banners and adhesive vinyl. Vinyl banners are often used as signs propped up using poles or grommets. These are often seen adorning places like office spaces, business establishments, hotels, and restaurants. Some homeowners use these as welcome or send-off signs.

Adhesive vinyl on the other hand can be attached to flat surfaces like glass windows. This kind of vinyl signs adheres well to glass. Adhesive vinyl stays in place and one does not have to worry about rolling it up and keeping it away. It also holds its place well for a considerable amount of time as it is often printed using ultraviolet-protected archival inks.

The next time you plan on putting up a sign, remember that you have the option to do it with vinyl.

Radiant Heat Is Preferred By Most People

By Art Bonner

The cost of radiant heat is something many people are interested in and it varies with what you want to have done. If you are hoping to have radiant heat throughout the whole house, it is best to have it installed when the house is being built. This is because it is no easy task to lay the pipes for hydronic radiant heat or to install the electric pads if you choose electric radiant heat.

Most homes are now built with forced air heating and redoing everything can be costly. For this reason, many people choose to have radiant heat installed in only a select few rooms that are most often the master bathroom and the kitchen.

If you have radiant heat installed in a single room, the easiest and least expensive method is the electric variety. Electric pads can be bought and installed with relative ease and the desired effect of warm floors for that room or rooms can be accomplished. Installing radiant heat will also raise the value of your home as it is the preferred method of heating of most people and not many homes have it.

In your travels you might find a home or two with radiant ceiling heat. This is not really recommended because heat rises and if it is already coming out of the ceiling it will not heat the rooms with the same efficiency as heat coming from the floors. If you hire a professional to put radiant heat into your home, make sure you ask a lot of questions if he recommends ceiling heat. There are instances where it is necessary but in most cases, radiant floor heat is the preferred type.

When given a choice, most people would prefer radiant heat to forced air, as it is silent and better for your skin. All you have to do is live through a cold winter to notice how dry your skin gets. The constant pumping of dry heat into our houses by the forced air systems just makes our skin feel worse.

Forget Ready Made - Build Your Own Chicken Coop

By Charlie Finch

There are loads of chicken coops for sale - at a price. Building your own is easy if you have a good set of chicken coop plans and instructions, whether you are a new chicken keeper and want a simple hen house, or an experienced keeper who wants a more sophisticated chicken coop

Its a great family project too. Depending on the ages of your children, they will be able to help building the chicken coop by doing something: fetching and organising the materials, telling you what to do next, assembling some of the pieces or even building the entire chicken coop.

The first thing to decide is what kind of chicken coop is right for you. If you only have, or are planning to get, a few hens, say around three, then a chicken ark could be a good solution.

If you want your chickens to free range, you can let them out, but a chicken ark is designed to be moved around so the chickens get to range as you move it. The simple design includes a roosting area one end and run the other.

It will take you most of a weekend to build a larger hen house with a run, but i's still a simple task if the design is based on simple shapes. This is a good design for around five hens. if you choose to build an ark as well, you then have something to move the hens around as well as a chicken coop with a fixed run.

You could build a chicken ark as well, so you have a moveable as well as a fixed hen house.

To save costs even further, source some plans that include instructions and plans for building all three types of chicken coop. Then you're all set to really save money.

Wall Decor for Setting a Room's Mood

By Dusty Wallis

If you are looking for a change in your home you may want to start with the decor which is on the walls. Yes, by changing little things like this, the mood will be different. Such as new colors and different designs you usually wouldn't choose.

There are many great wrought iron pieces of art which are brought into any rooms design. They are clean and also have much personality designed into their textures. You either can chose a simple piece or connect much different wrought iron designed into one larger piece for a walls focal point in the room. Make sure you are aware of the weight and the placement of this piece since they are heavier than traditional wall art.

There are countless ways to adorn your walls with wrought iron; versatility is clearly a strength of the material. Just hanging the piece on your wall can already look interesting. Whether you want your space to look classic or contemporary, there's a wrought iron wall ornament out there that will do the job. Don't be afraid to experiment with different ways of using wrought iron decor in your home. Hang one off a nail, or interlock them and create an eye-catching iron cluster. Be bold and use your imagination and creativity.

You can have more than one texture onto a walls decor such as a great framed art along with your wrought iron pieces. Make sure you are achieving the mood set which you were planning on in this room. You may also want to take into consideration the furniture pieces which will be used in this area and the lighting that is used or what is lacking.

Now that you have an idea on the design you're looking for, keep that goal in mind when you're shopping around for art pieces. For example, a bright multicolored work will look great in a bright room with adequate sunlight. Monochromatic pieces tie in well with neutral colors. At this point, it's also a good idea to get something that has meaning for you. Whether it's related to a childhood memory or a recent experience, it's the perfect chance to add a touch of character to your space that'll also be a great conversation piece.

An area rug is one of the best ways to give a room that put-together look. For example, a wrought iron wall artwork piece from above would benefit from the contrast provided by a brightly colored shag area rug. There's a visual juxtaposition in terms of both color and textures. If you have a room that's mostly neutral colored, you could give it a kick of color with a deep, dark-colored area rug.

Decorating your wall need not be expensive. Simple details like framed artworks or a fine piece of wrought iron decor can already go a long, long way in improving the overall look of the space.
