How To Have A Very Stylish Xmas Garden Display

By Jasper Judd

We have all seen films where the neighbors are horrified and bothered by the Christmas decorations of their area. None of us wish to be in this particular situation, but it is easy to get carried away with the festive season. So how does one create stylish and also satisfactory outdoor Christmas Décor.

The very first thing that I'd like to explain is that quality it the most important thing. If you've got a small budget it is worth buying less and getting the very best quality. If you invest in quality it will last from one year to the next and you are able to add to it every year till you have your perfect collection of decorations.

In my view the highest quality Christmas decorations, and this is applicable to indoor and out door decorations are the most normal ones. I adore the old Victorian style wooden baubles you can get for the Christmas trees now; and I think the same thing is applicable to outside decorations.

Think back to the best Santa village you have ever been to. The probabilities are that there were tons of light and also tons of figurines and scenes to marvel at. The key word in the previous sentence is 'marvel'. If folks do not wish to spend time having a look at your Christmas decorations in detail then you need to rethink what you have made.

There are 2 basic themes for your outdoor Christmas Décor; the 1st is based around Santa and the 2nd is based around the nativity. You can combine the 2, but if you're just starting to invest in your decorations then you'll find that it will be easiest to focus on a single concept in the 1st year.

If you have kids then there is no avoiding having Santa. The questions is what kind of Santa? Ideally he should be wooden. Wooden figurines last better, and can be revived annually to be sure that they usually look fantastic.

If you're going for wooden decorations then you have two choices; either a solid figures (rather pricey but worthwhile), or a wooden cut out which stands up. Which ever you go for be sure to get each item separately. Don't get a cut out of Santa with his reindeer and sleigh which are all attached. If you wish to get the reindeer, Santa and the sleigh separately and then attach them yourself. This is highly important as a lot of the 'extra ' to your display will be from the linking of the items. Perhaps you'll have glittery gold ribbons as reins for the reindeer? Or perhaps you will attach the sleigh to the reindeer with the colours of your local soccer team? It is these little personalized touches which will make a display which everybody will admire.
