Home Decor For A Beautiful Ambiance

By Suki Mulberg Altamirano

Home decor reflects the style and personalities of the people inhabiting the space. Choosing an appropriate decoration can be a challenge without knowing where to start. Understanding the space that one is working with, the amount of money that they have to spend, and the colors that they like is the first place to start.

The first thing that a person should do before staring a project is to decide how much money they have to spend. This will determine how much renovation that they can do. If the budget is small than it is wise to do cheaper things that can make a great impact. Changing the color on the walls, the curtains or adding a new throw rug can add an entirely different feel to the room.

A small space requires congruency and openness. One can achieve this by choosing color schemes within the same family. Choosing a neutral wall color with bolder accent pillows can be appealing. Individuals can use a bolder color in smaller spaces, but it needs to be strategically placed to avoid giving the appearance of a smaller room. Choosing a color scheme that matches and using smaller items around the house will help it to feel open and inviting.

A larger house can handle greater accents, such as larger decorations and brighter colors. However, whether a small or large space, individuals can decorate to their taste as long as it is congruent. Keeping patterns and style consistent throughout the space will add warmth to the house.

The style of the owner will determine what type of design to use. Whatever palate of color that is chosen, all colors should match one another. Choosing a room that is to be the center of attention and adding bold color to it will lead the eye to be drawn to that space.

The appropriate home decor is determined by the style of the person who will live in the space. Whatever style is used, the house should be inviting.Determining cost and ambiance will help the individual create an atmosphere that is conducive to their style.
