Tools You Are going to Need To Renovate Your Kitchen

By Brigitte Moore

The tools you will need to remodel your kitchen depend on how extensive your project is going to be and how much of the work you plan to do yourself. If you are going to complete the complete kitchen, you'll require some tools to remove the cabinets and flooring. Your first job is to get all things out of your kitchen, so you will need a hammer, a crowbar, a power screwdriver, and a saws-all at a minimum.

Most cabinets are held up by screws, so the screwdriver is needed to get the cabinets out without doing too much damage to the walls. In the event you need to try to use the cabinets somewhere else, you will want to be careful getting them down. Unless you plan to use the cabinets in any way, it's OK to be a bit rough with the door and hinges. A step ladder is advantageous to take out the upper cabinets get them taken care of. If you prefer to take out the lower cabinets first, you probably want to take out the kitchen sink and appliances. If you lack a plumber for that, you will need wrenches or pliers to uninstall the sink, and garbage disposal, if you have one.

The saw will likely be needed to take off the countertop off since you will be sawing them into small pieces. Taking out the flooring surfaces will be easy after you have removed the lower cabinet. The kitchen should be clear of everything and now you should manage to inspect the walls or replace the sheet rock. In the event the walls and ceiling are in fair shape, you may only need to do a little patch work or retexture. Once that is definitely completed, you can upgrade the electrical outlets and switches and repaint the walls and ceiling. Should you do this yourself, you will need to acquire painting and drywall supplies and electrical tools. When you have done any work around the house earlier, you might already have most of these tools.

After you have concluded painting, you can lay down new underlayment by nailing it down using a hammer or nail gun or screwing down with a power screw driver. Precisely the same power screw driver enables you to hang the upper cabinets, and also the lower cabinets. If you plan to employ linoleum for your floors, you may want to do the flooring first then do the cabinets but it doesn't matter which goes first. The the next step to undertake is to finish it off by installing the new counter tops, dropping in the new sink, hooking up the plumbing, finishing the base and adding new appliances then you are done.

There are some individuals who have the tools and experience needed to remodel the kitchen. For others, not only can it be a learning experience, but a number of tools will need to be purchased.
