Self Storage Units Can Help Improve Your Relationship With Your Spouse

By Michal Simmons

Who wants more storage space? Jim and Cara thought it was not a requirement. After they got married, nonetheless, they found out that some of their personal belongings take up too much space in their cramped starter home.

Cara considered the antique pieces of furniture that were left to her by her late great grandmother as her continuing link to her family. Unfortunately, the tables and chairs would be too big to fit in their new home.

Jim on the other hand, was an architect. He designed and created, as a school project, more than a dozen scale-model buildings during his time as a student. These scale models were his showcase exhibits in his former flat. Nevertheless, after Cara and he were wed and when the couple moved into their new home, the space was too tiny that the scale models cannot be displayed as Jim would prefer.

So now, the couple face a challenge right at the start of their life as newlyweds. The husband or wife would not let go of their personal possessions. Although the quandary of their own possessions has not yet led to a full-blown fight, it has started to be a source of conflict for the two of them.

The couple wanted their marriage to work, and they both actively sought a compromise. They agreed on renting out a storage unit to keep those personal stuff that they cared too much about but would not fit in their starter home.

Luckily for Cara and Jim, there was a self storage facility near their place. They made inquiries and found out that the rental terms for a self storage unit were quite favorable for them. Furthermore, the management was able to provide them the right space measurement that they required.

The newly married couple is also confident with the security measures they saw in place all over the warehouse complex. They can sleep soundly because they are sure in the knowledge that their personal stuff are well taken care of by trustworthy security personnel and overlooked by CCTV cameras.

Thus, who requires storage? Couples such as Jim and Cara - two people who care about their personal possessions and about their relationship - and all other individuals who require the extra space to stow their precious personal belongings that will not fit into cramped dwelling places certainly do.
