Exciting Ideas For Year Long Christmas Lights

By Suzi Sinclair

When you think about how long it takes to put up your Christmas lights during the holiday season, it generally is not a job that is relished after the holiday is over. Since they are primarily used to spruce up your house and to add to the festivities, you may want to rethink taking them down. There are many fun and unique ways to recycle their use all year long.

It takes a lot of time and effort to put up outdoor lighting during the holidays; with this knowledge, it really makes complete sense to leave them up all year long. Your home will always look fun and festive, leaving your neighbors to either enjoy it, or wonder why you left them up in the first place. Either way, it certainly beats dragging the ladders out in the dead of winter, and putting yourself in danger of freezing to death while trying to get everything down.

Your home will take on a personality of its own when your lighting is left on. Some people may have a differing opinion on what constitutes the right time to take them down, this is for sure. But, when you are watching your neighbors struggle in the freezing cold to get their holiday lighting secured, you will not have to go outside at all; your job has already been done.

Keeping holiday lighting alive in your home is a great way to transform any room into a funky decoration solution. If you have not put them away yet, use them to light up a boring house plant. You can also use this type of light to create a subtle mood for any sort of occasion; energizing a space for a party or gathering will give you a beautiful option for creating a stunning affect.

Using holiday lighting in every room of your home can drastically change the look and feel of a space. The small bulbs are perfect to place under kitchen cabinets to cast calm brightness onto counter tops. They are economical to run, so they can save money with nighttime illumination.

If you are throwing a party, and are at a loss as to make your space unique and beautiful, try using this kind of lighting in different ways. Try stapling them to your ceiling in different shapes and sizes all along the room. Use different color bulbs to make the space a festive place to be.

Another great idea for the light options is to wrap the individual bulbs with fun cloth. With tape, cover the bulbs to create a unique and fun way to put light in or around a room. It keeps the kids busy when the weather keeps them indoors.

It is not a sin to leave your Christmas lights up all year long. If you have a creative streak in you, there are many different ways you can enjoy them, all year long. People may talk, but it will be worth every word if you are happy with the ambiance you have created in and around your home. Whether it is indoors or out, this kind of lighting can keep things looking festive all the time.
