Turning your work area into a feng shui office and learning how to easily feng shui your desk is an excellent way to increase your chances of success in business.
In feng shui, we are concerned with making improvements that will help with your career and wealth matters (i.e. your business success), your health and your relationship matters (including your love life, family matters and friends matters).
In your work area, the most important piece of furniture is your desk.
Perhaps you work out of your laptop most of the time. Your company may not even provide you with a designated desk. This is a growing trend among large global companies, who need to promote collaboration and reduce costs. Despite this, we do recommend that you have a physical area which you can call your own desk at work if possible.
Here are eight simple techniques to feng shui your desk
1.) recognize that having a dedicated desk space of your own is something you actually need! This will help you to feel more peace of mind, steadiness and consistency in your daily routine.
2.) Ensure that everything on your desk has its own dedicated place where it belongs.
3.) Use a desk light to illuminate your work area for those long evenings spent at the computer.
4.) Are the electric cables well organized to ensure that nobody will trip on them?
5.) Make sure that the desk itself does not reveal your legs to other people when they enter the room or walk towards your desk. The desk should have side paneling to prevent this.
6.) Your desk needs to be the right size, not too big or too small.
7.) What is behind you when you sit at your desk? It should ideally be a solid wall rather than a window. There also needs to be a decent amount of space between your back and the wall for comfort.
8.) If the ceiling is sloping, you should not have your desk under it. See if you can move to another part of the room or another room entirely. If this is a no go, then make sure your desk is under the highest point of the sloping ceiling.
Fix any of the above points that you are currently not doing and this will lead to more success in your business!
