Motion sensor is effective (much better than I was expecting), the one LED throws mad light, simple to set up, just about everything I hoped for.
Do not expect too much of light out of these walkway lights or you will be dissatisfied. These seem to be a little on the cheap side, materials wise, however they did work after banging them several times.
We live in a rural area without road lights (or sidewalks) and it is dark out here! I love this bollard lighting!
The second light I am not having as much luck, but assume it's picking up the light from the other spot light. Well, I suppose I made a mistake - I am human. But when mounted, the black color of the lights was perfect, they do not look out-of-place, and actually, almost look like part of the tree, from a brief distance away. I'm able to envision using this light all over my one acre house outside as well as some locations inside.
If you prefer a low-light for a particular application, this may be the light for you. We required a light that will work on a motion sensor and light up enough of our garage so we could open up the doorway with ease or grab something or whatever without the need for a flashlight. The walkway lights are only going to turn on in total darkness. I was amazed at the quantity of light it gave off and it did not have to be installed by an electrical contractor.
Otherwise great little light with a lot of power. Second, the biggest trouble with the walkway light is it does not turn on when there is movement! This light is ideal for any entrance or drive, or any darkish lit region, it has lots of power to light almost anything. The sensors are advertised, and are completely responsive. So, what I did was pre-punch two little holes where the screw marks were on the template, after which I used white Liquid Paper to mark the drilling spots. While not an excellent bright light, there is plenty enough light to light up a pathway or doorway enough to determine where you are going. It senses somebody at 12-15 feet. Turns on to movement during the night and turn on during the day. So it's not really a motion detector because it is almost always on. The twisting hinge that attaches the light to the foundation was missing. I searched all over the place to be sure I'd not dropped it somewhere. I'm happy with the value, as long as they still work. I've had two issues with the light, first was the lens in front of the LED made a nice circle having a bright edge. Additional, they've been great for alerting us if anybody or anything enters our yard.
I have solar lights which use two AA batteries that released more effective light. Then I tried it around midnight without any other lights on and it would not switch on.
