A Luxurious Bel Air Kitchen Design Will Add New Life To Your Whole Home

By Kimberly Brooks

Most people have to budget carefully when they make major renovations to their homes. They may have to skimp on one portion of the restoration in order to splurge on another. If you live in one of the most exclusive zip codes in the country, you probably don't have the same issues. For you a Bel Air kitchen design may mean a luxurious renovation from the ceiling to the flooring. All you have to do is choose which luxury designs and accessories are right for you.

Kitchens have three basic layouts. The galley design is one in which an aisle runs between two walls. This is not the kind of layout you generally find in large homes with open living spaces. The guest house layout may have a galley design. If you are renovating a cottage for your guests, you can certainly install custom counters, natural wood cabinets, and high end appliances to create a cozy, but luxurious room.

A layout more fitting for an executive residence is L shaped. There is space in these kitchens for a nice size island. The cooking and prep area is often angled, allowing designers to come up with creative solutions to make the best use of the space. L shaped kitchens generally have more storage room than galleys.

The layout most people prefer today is U shaped. You have three walls to give you lots of room for cooking, preparation, and clean up. Islands can be as elaborate as you choose with sinks, storage, and cooking surfaces. This is the layout that lends itself best to open living space designs. Adding bars, wine caves, and butler's pantries to adjoining areas is popular.

When it comes to appliances and accessories, the sky's the limit when you have unlimited funds and a good imagination. You can have double and triple sinks, ranges with multiple burners, and convection and double ovens. Sub-zero refrigerators with double doors, French doors, or paneled doors are all popular. You can hide the refrigerator completely if that is to your taste.

You might consider installing a coffee bar in your renovated eating area. You will need at least one high end coffee pot, a pour over tool, expresso machine, and French press. You can order exclusive coffee beans from all over the world, and might need a special cabinet to hold them all. Adding a cafe' table and chairs to a cozy corner makes reaching for that second and third cup an easy task.

Installing a brick oven is another idea that many, who entertain frequently and have large kitchens, really enjoy. If you love to bake bread, pizza, and rolls, this will be a great addition to your renovation project. The aroma these wood fired ovens give off fill houses with the smells of baking bread.

The kitchen is the heart of any home. This is where friends and family gather, and cooks entertain. A luxurious renovation is worth the cost when this is where everyone spends their time.
