About Beautiful Silver Chiavari Chairs

Chiavari chair, widely known as Tiffany chair or the Chiavarina, is a very elegant, usually wooden chair of Ligurian design. It was created back in 1807, by a cabinet maker Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi, who had lived in Italian village called Chiavari. Silver Chiavari chairs remain popular till today, and some manufacturers in Italy are still producing them on the traditional way.

These lovely, elegant and timeless chairs are still in use in the State Dining Room, as well as in Family dining Room in the White House. At current American president Barack Obama inauguration, his family and guests were sitting on silver Chiavari chairs. For more than two centuries now, these simple and elegant pieces of furniture are appreciated all over the world.

They are widely popular as rented furniture as well. They are so easy to storage, because they can easily be put on each other in high stalks, and are light enough to be carried around. Easy maintainable and highly durable, although so light, it is also easy to clean them.

Originally, they were made of wild cherry and maple wood, and after that, also of beech wood and ash. The seats were made using purple willow. Thin strips of wood were hand woven and tied according to Mr. Descalzi's instructions. The same traditional method is still used in his home town and nearby places in numerous small manufacturing facilities.

This beautifully designed piece of furniture is widely appreciated thanks to its remarkable lightness and stack ability. Today, they come in a wide variety of materials, including lightweight bamboo, beech wood, bronze and even steel. White natural finishes became a standard for weddings in all parts of the world, and for some other special occasions, some people prefer using gold or silver colored ones.

Simplicity and lightness of this remarkable piece of furniture make it widely appreciated and highly decorative in any ambiance. Elegant lines and practicality make it the most famous chair ever, and it is just perfect for any special event. It really is a work of art, and that's why numerous designers have already tried to recreate its elegant simplicity and lightness.

Mahogany made Chiavarina is especially popular today. Its rich, warm brown tones with a touch of red look great in both rustic and elegant ambiances. Numerous rich layers of lacquer give amazingly luxurious shine to the wood. Golden honey Chiavarinas are mostly made of different fruit woods, including cherry and walnut, but other types of wood are also used.

White Chiavarina is mostly used for weddings and similar events. It is especially elegant and will perfectly fit in any decoration. Used for indoor and outdoor weddings, it can be combined with different colors of cushions, fresh flowers or some other decorative elements. Glossy black and custom painted pieces are also available in most shops specialized for this type of furniture.

Even so, gold, white and silver Chiavari chairs are the most popular ones. They were used on French Court, people still sit on them in the White house, and you just cannot imagine beautiful wedding ceremony without them. Elegant and timeless in their simplicity, these lovely pieces of furniture are here to stay.
