No mechanical issues with the two I used. I would recommend placing your BQ lighting under your roof eaves to ensure that they're out of direct rain. I set one on the shelf at the end of the hall, and two on the deck stairs. When the tests fail, all that will remain are two little screw holes and the loss of thirty bucks. It has been up for a month approximately in most kinds of weather and works like no bodies business.
It detects motion intermittently now and then, but most of the time it does not. I put two up on one side which was ample for me to pull pants, shirt and tie out on dark New England winter mornings. I liked it so much I purchased one for downstairs back door where it's very darkish.
I actually do have a Dorcy, it provides much more brightness than Fulcrum and a better quality item. Might have given it five stars if not for the plastic being a touch flimsy. We bought it because our fridge light has died on us (and no, changing the bulb did not help).
After I shut door they switch off in thirty seconds approximately. I might purchase more, but additional testing is required. Being the light goes on with motion, light or dark, and that the unit will function, as created, to go on as a leaf blows by (throughout the day), by night time the unit is virtually used up. First two were from "As Seen On TV" section at Walgreens.
AA batteries are much more affordable and have a lot higher power capacity than AAA types. This solar lamp post really works great and with automated movement detection the battery lasts long time. I've purchased solar powered lights previously and that was a waste of cash. I got myself one to mount over every shelf.
So this is a great price from Amazon. I additionally cannot return the porch lighting simply because I do not have a printer so I cannot print the return label from Amazon. My 87 year old mother's vision is not excellent so I ordered three for her closets. Happy with this particular item.
I personally use one in the bathroom to turn on the light and we have a dark entry and stair well with hands full of bags it is good to have a light. Time will tell but I am happy with both lights. I'm happy with this particular light and the cost was fantastic! In contrast to other comparable lights this one's shutting down in response to light is much greater, which means this light goes off in scenarios that could barely be called dark. It isn't a bright light, but if you would like it for navigation in a dark place it functions all right.
