A lot of people, believe that keeping marine fish is a complicated job. In some instances this possibly true, because saltwater fish uses a somewhat more time, work and pieces of equipment compared to freshwater fish. But freshwater fish also demands the same kind of attention and proper care, especially, if one wants to breed them or keep gentle fish. However, there are lots of marine fish species which can be easier to deal with once you are able to see the correct way of maintaining the saltwater aquarium, and establishing a well balanced environment.

The essential Parameters

Marine fish tend to be sensitive to distinctions in their environment. The standard parameters for marine aquarium are pH, salinity, nitrite and temperature. During cycling method, nitrate and ammonia can generate problems. These factors are same as is in freshwater tank, only the degree of intensity differs generally.

The primary Components

The primary components for keeping marine fish are generally artificial sea salts, filter systems, lighting effects, decorations and test kits. Probably the most necessary items for saltwater aquarium is the size of the tank, the larger the better.

Establishing

The first step to keep marine fish is establishing a tank within the appropriate area and position. Ensure that the stand is the same of all direction; you may usually accomplish this with Styrofoam within the tank. Next, install the purification, either inside of the tank or outside, in accordance with the kind of filter. Put substrate after rinsing it with plain water then organize the adornments.

General Notes

Experienced aquarists advise that you need to always maintain a quarantine tank, specifically for saltwater fish. Sick fish requires separated cure, simply because drugs or copper etc. could poison the fish tank that could be harmful for the health of other fish. Bear in mind source water can also be vital for saltwater tank.
