Reasons Your Interior Decorator Will Suggest Natural Flooring Each Time

By Sean C. Arpeone

Has your interior designer advised hiring a Canadian flooring company to install wood or tile in your home? If that is so she has possibly done so for 1 or 2 differing reasons. One might be because new flooring would work fine with the design you are making together. But a bigger reason could be because when it comes to increasing a home's value , natural floor coverings such as ceramic tile, stone and wood can do just that - increase the value of your home.

Naturally, the first question you may ask your interior designer would be whether carpet might be used instead . After all , carpet is simpler on the feet, is warmer, and if done correctly can look just as nice as wood and tile. But the answer to that'd be no - while carpeting is nice, it won't increase the value of your home. Why not? Because house buyers want to choose their own carpet, and 9 times out of 10, they'll rip out existing carpet and substitute it with their choice anyway. Home appraisers know this, and so don't assign any extra price to a home when it has new carpeting.

But guess what? Both wood and tile can be as warm as carpet, as long as the right design elements get used. As an example, hardwood surfaces can look more beautiful ( not to mentioned be warmed up and softened ) by thick, plush area rugs. And there are tons of selections when it comes to area rugs - it is possible to get rugs in just as many colors, patterns, designs and fibers as carpet comes in.

The same is right for tile and stone flooring - an area rug can go a ways towards making them feel just as warm and soft as a carpeted floor would, while preserving the elevated value of your house.

With tile and stone, you also have the choice of heated flooring. There are three ways to heat floors - electrical, air and water - with the most common being water. With this design element, plastic or metal pipes are laid inside a floor, close to the surface. Hot water is then run through the pipes, heating up the floors. This design component also increases the value of a home. Therefore if your interior designer has suggested new floor coverings of either wood or stone, give it some serious thought.
