Cooling Your Sunroom With Air-Conditioning

By Phil Caxton

Your sunroom can be converted to a more enjoyable place with the installation of an air conditioner. Air-conditioning will provide you an all the year round enjoyable experience in your sunroom. Room temperature in the sunroom can rise greatly during the summer months and hence you may not be able to bear the temperature rise in your sunroom during the hot summer season. In some parts of the world the temperature rises to unbearable levels also. It is always better to make the necessary arrangements in your sunroom in advance itself. Depending on the size of your sunroom you can decide the type of air-conditioning you wish to have for the sunroom.

Air-conditioning provides comfort:

Comfort level in the sunroom is increased with the installation of an air-conditioner. Different people adopt different methods of maintaining a comfortable environment in the sunroom. Some methods are more expensive than the others, but whatever you adopt, it is for keeping the sunroom comfortable and cool at all times. Some people prefer to have the air-conditioner on even in the winter season, so it becomes essential to install one, anyways.

Enjoy the warmth of the sun too:

By installing air-conditioning at the same time you can enjoy the warmth of the sun all through the year. Options of installing air-conditioning are many. Some prefer central air-conditioning, where the compressor, coils etc. are fixed at a location outside the house, while the equipment responsible for cooling is kept indoors. Hot air from inside the house is routed out of the house through the connecting ducts that help in cooling the entire house.

Some homes have the sunroom attached to them. In such cases it becomes easier to have the air conditioning system extended from the home into the sunroom by using an additional ducting system to connect both the rooms. The sunroom thus receives the same amount of cooling along with the rest of the rooms in the house. The provision of a combination of a valve and a thermostat helps in maintaining different temperature in different rooms, depending on the rate of temperature you require in each room.

It should be ensured that the centralized air-conditioning system is able to handle any excess load due to the provision made for the sunroom. Instead of making separate arrangements for the sunroom it is always better to eliminate any extra ducting work for the sunroom. And moreover if the sunroom is not too big you can also have the mini split units which don't occupy too much space in the sunroom. They can easily be mounted on any of the sunroom walls and they occupy less space too.
