5 Tips To Redecorate Your Bedroom By Yourself

By Michelle Rocher

Is your bedroom looking drab and boring to look at? Has your tiny devil just done some work of art on the wall? Well, don't blame him, for he too finds it boring. Let's just ponder about this, if you did have an elegant bedroom you would surely watch his movements every time you saw him with a crayon. On second thought, if you did have an elegant bedroom you would just allow him to use the crayon on his bedroom wall or may be buy a big board for him to express himself.

Who needs Donald Trump if you could transform your bedroom on your own creative self? Who needs the Wynn, Shangri-la, Four Seasons and Hilton hotels anyway?

Redo your bedroom by cleaning it. I know, I know...not a good introduction for a decorating project. But wait! Don't be discouraged. Know that an orderly room is much easier to redecorate. You'll be amazed at how much better looking your bedroom will be once you get rid of the clutter. It will open up space for you to decorate with more valuable items than your dirty socks, scratch papers and useless trinkets. Voila! You've also finally found your bed amidst the heap of clothes and hangers.

Paint your bedroom - Paint or wallpaper your room with a nice color of your choice. Deep or a dark shade for a bedroom is now in vogue. The lighting should be controlled in such a way that it meets your needs, say if you usually read in bed every night you should get a bedside lamp installed.

Next, choose your fabrics. Once you have chosen your color, selecting the beddings, curtains and area rugs for your bedroom will be a breeze. Incorporate texture as much as you can by adding small but relevant items like throw pillows, area rugs, drapes, etc. The natural softness of flowers also give the room a more elegant look.

Personalize your room by displaying photos, souvenir items and the like. You might have some pretty things that you can use as decors. No, I don't mean your colorful laundry and candy wrappers you've intentionally shaped as ribbons.

Side table and shelves: If you don't have extra place in your house, such as a study room, make a study area consisting of a long table to also accommodate a computer, a chair and also your favorite books. If running short of space, a couple of shelves on the wall will not be bad, but will allow you to be more organized and at the same time give you leg space. You could also put your personal items over there.

Easy, aren't they? In a day or two, you can change your bedroom into a brand new place. No longer will indifference and disinterest inhabit your private haven.
