Wonder if You Should Seed Landscape in the Falltime or Spring?

By Eva Evenson

Ever wonder whether you need to be doing your landscape planting for your shrubs, perennials, grass and various other plants in the spring or the falltime? A lot of people don't think about it. A lot of people just wait for springtime to come for the landscaping to begin.

Planting the landscaping in the fall season is the best. The scorching temperatures of 2012 exemplified the need for fall landscape planting more than any year we have seen in a really long while.

Many have called it 2012 "The Landscaping Apocalypse of 2012." We have seen landscaping customers who were highly dedicated to watering their landscaping and doing what is required to help keep every thing alive lose a lot of their landscaping. Even the really determined landscaping lovers ended the summer seeing a large amount of the landscaping perish.

A very important factor that everyone did witness is that all of the landscaping which had been failing had been landscaping that had been planted during spring. Customers which had planted in the fall on the other hand didn't have any difficulties with keeping the landscaping living. There is actually a rather simple reason why this is.

You want a sturdy root system for the landscaping and falltime planting will do that. Having a robust and penetrating root system will be crucial for the landscaping to flourish. You see, the lower your root system goes into your dirt, the more water you will find. If your landscaping proves to have a superficial root system it'll be barely surviving in the high temperature to obtain the water it needs to make it through.

Now, the 2012 Landscaping Apocalypse our landscaping endured had been a rare heat spell. Don't be overly afraid that if you do not setup our landscaping during the falltime of 2012 your 2013 landscape will absolutely perish. If we have a great year you'll likely be okay. This high amount of high temperatures we all have encountered this season has proven the fact that planting your landscape during the autumn will produce very secure plants.

Here is a question though, if autumn planted landscaping managed to make it through the high heat, how well will autumn landscaping perform during a year of good weather conditions? On that note, if you take care of your landscaping now just before the winter season, you will have a good deal less required maintenance and plant watering next year because the deep soil moisture content is going to be accomplishing most of the heavy lifting for you.

It's just not true that planting in the spring season is the best season to do your landscaping. In addition, you will only have to do about half the work maintaining and watering your landscaping the following spring and summer. It really is a win win situation for all included.
