Very Greatest Ways Of Successful Dog Training

By Tom Alice

Now that you have a dog you must learn the right way to teach your new family pet. The following information will give you the tools needed to give you the best learning experience that you can possibly pass on to your loved pooch.

Dogs

If you are having problems with your dog's behavior, one of the best things that you can do is to avoid aggression triggers. For instance, do not put them in a situation where they are likely to feel protective. If they do not like other dogs, simply try to separate them.

Your dog wants someone to be in charge. If it isn't you, your dog may try to take the job. Dogs want leaders who provide stability and security. Be a good leader by being consistent, competent, firm, gentle, kind, and a good provider. Your dog will be happy to follow you!

Babying your dog does not produce productive relationships. Dogs enjoy having a pack of family members to trust, and even more, dogs enjoy having a job. Even the smallest dogs can perform tasks, so appeal to your dog's independent side by giving him something to work on! Fido will still love you at the end of the work-day.

Dogs

If you are serious about training your dog, remember to be a dog during training. Dogs establish control and behavior through physical commands and less through spoken command. When you want your dog to exhibit a certain behavior, use nudges or posture adjustments physically along with your verbal commands. These are traits your dog expects and will respond accordingly.

When puppies are little, they might develop biting habits which can easily be solved by placing a chew toy by your dogs mouth whenever he or she begins to nip at you. This will quickly teach your puppy that it is allowed to bite at toys but not at you.

Try to limit the length of each dog training session to less than 45 minutes. If you train longer than this your dogs will become too tired. This will also lead to a lack of concentration and eventually to frustration from you and your beloved pet.

Now that you hopefully have some good ideas for training your dog you can set about your journey. Training a dog can often be a rewarding experience when you see their effort pay off with an obedient dog. Following what you have learned will give you the direction needed to train your dog.
